Affordable and reliable!
I purchased this baby monitor a little over a year ago and I’ve been meaning to come back and write a review. It has been a very good monitor. The sound, the picture quality, the install, and the controls are awesome!100% recommend!Also to add- when we first received this item we were having trouble getting it to charge and turn back on on the first charge. I emailed customer service and they were pretty quick responding back to me about it. They sent me a new monitor and charging cord and everything has been working perfectly!!

We actually bought this monitor to keep an eye on our cat when he’s in the garage. We don’t have a kitty door, so we need to know when he wants to come back into the house. The door to the garage is very solid, so we don’t always hear his meow, especially from the other end of the house. This monitor is perfect! We have the camera pointed to the door area, so if he’s just meowing for fun, we don’t scurry to let him in. But if it’s he’s at the door and meowing, we know that he wants to come in. This monitor was a great choice! The garage is always dim, but the monitor picture is great and we have no problems seeing him. The ability to pan left, right, up, and down is very helpful. It’s so quiet that the kitty barely notices when we’re changing the camera angle! We keep the video monitor plugged in most of the time, except when we’re taking it to to the other end of the house. We’ve never had it unplugged for more than a few hours so can’t speak to the battery life. We’re very pleased with this product!

Very convenient
This closed circuit camera for my toddler is the best. The screen size is perfect and I can take it with Mr around the house. I haven’t really monitored the battery life on it but for the most part It gives me a whole nights worth of battery. What sucks about it is that when the sun is really bright the camera goes dark so you can’t see anything during naptime. Shows picture really well at night and on a cloudy day though. Wish it adjusted better with the sunlight. However, the price it is a good buy. We can communicate with our toddler from the monitor through the camera and it comes with a mounting kit as well. I’d buy it again.

I had to write a review right away, my infant optics parent unit stopped working and for several reasons I decided replacing it wasn’t the way to go. I decided to get this one as it’s cheaper and I am less reliant on the monitor now that my baby is older. But quickly I wish I got this one first all along. It FEELS more durable, connectivity is amazing, even through thick walls/doors. The picture is crystal clear. The talk ability is clear, and it was set up in MINUTES. Why spend 100+ on “name brand” when this works better, amazing price, you won’t regret it.

If it were any more pricey, we would have sent it back
We got this camera system when it was on sale, and between the already low sale price, and the cupon that was added to it, all told, we purchased this monitor for $49. As the title states, if it had been even $5 more, we would have returned it. We have another monitor system by a company called “iDOO”, and we purchased it on sale for around $65, and for the price we paid, you really cannot ask for a better monitor. We actually purchased this monitor to keep an eye on our 4 year old, as we were and still are dealing with behavioral problems with him, and we need to be able to keep an eye on him even when we cannot be in the same room as him at any given time. One of the things that I like the most about that monitor is the fact that the mounting system is the same as pretty much any security type camera, or even just a digital camera. It is a 1/4 inch female fitting made into the bottom of the unit, and this female fitting allows me to fix the camera upon some mounts that I purchased for security cameras. The mounts are designed for wifi security type cameras, but they are not to different from these baby monitor cameras, save the additional features of the monitors, like temperature monitoring, and noise monitoring, etc. If you hang these cameras from the ceiling, upside down, all you have to do is to also flip the monitor itself upside down as well, and you can still control the camera to where up is up and down is down, and so on and so forth. I have placed bases to these security camera mounts in different rooms of the house, so that if I need to have the camera in a different room from where it is, I can just detach the camera, and the top portion of the mount that stays attached to the camera portion of the monitor system, and re-attach it on the base that is installed on the ceiling in that room. I have these bases installed in positions in each room that allow us to see everywhere in each room with an unobstructed view. The lack of this same female fitting on the bottom of this camera was the first thing that I immediately did not like about this monitor, but that would not be the last. The other things that are sub-par with this monitor are, well, just about everything. Immediately upon turning on the monitor’s screen for the first time, it was apparent that the picture was not going to be nearly as good in quality as our other monitor. It’s difficult to explain, but it’s almost like the good monitor has a picture quality much like your TV screen. But this monitor has an overly grainy quality to it, much like the crappy cameras you might see when viewing the security camera footage at a crappy gas station, if you’ve ever seen anything like that before. (My wife watches quite a bit of ID and Oxygen, so I’ve seen plenty of crappy gas station video feed). Also, once it became night time, we quickly realized that for whatever reason, the night vision for this camera is not nearly as good as it is on the other monitor we own. At times, the room the camera is in is bareley visible at all, and you will have to move the camera around in order to get the picture to improve. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to this, though I am assuming it has something to do with the lighting, and turning the camera toward a different direction enables it to get more light or less light, to where you can then at least see the room. Later, we came to find that the camera does the same thing in the day time, and sometimes, during the day, the camera will be black and white like it is in night vision mode, and the camera will need to be moved around. Then there are other times when the light seems to be too much, and that will cause the image to be washed out and the whole screen can just be white. These issues are counter-intuitive to what you are trying to achieve when purchasing one of these such monitors to begin with, as I’m sure you can well imagine. It is for these reasons that I cannot in good conscience, recommend this monitor to anyone, especially for something as important and crucial as keeping an eye on your little ones. If you are looking for a monitor to keep eyes on your kiddos, look somewhere else. Unless your budget is so low that nothing else is feasible, in which case I would encourage you to just check on your little one constantly and spend your hard earned money on something else that will work properly and that you will not feel let down with. If you need a monitor at a good price, keep an eye on the monitor system by iDOO. They go on sale quite often, and you may even get lucky and find one that is an open box or “used” but in very good to excellent condition.

I found the image on the monitor to be quite poor. I like that there doesn’t seem to be a delay as another monitor that I had tried, but the quality definitely is lacking.Sound does appear to be good though.Also don’t like that there is no time on the monitor

I have a 7 year old daughter that is special needs and this works really well to keep an eye on the mayhem she creates at night! I would recommend to hang it on the ceiling or wall as the cool RTD2 function needs space to spin to different angles and while I originally bought to put on a shelf, quickly learnt that wouldn’t work well.The parent screen keeps a charge for a long time. Keep in mind as well that the plug ins are barrel and not a usb plug in. Overall, great to use, set up was fairly easy and it works for my needs!

This baby monitor was purchased for my my great aunt who was gravely ill and who require constant care and it did justice for our family so I would recommend this baby monitor even for babies or elderly people. Great price great quality.
